Silence

It took me a surprisingly long time to realize that God is found in silence.
To be sure,God is found in nature. He is found in churches, temples, monasteries, ashrams, and everywhere else one can,or cannot, look. But God is found most intimately in silence.
Now just what exactly do I mean by this? What I mean is that if one is truly seeking after God,the surest, most immediate way is to retreat into the silence of yourself, for it is there that you will find Him waiting.
We are all Divine,in the sense that every human being, from the wealthiest king or queen to the homeless beggar on the street, possesses a soul.It is that immaterial, yet very real soul that makes us Divine, for it is that part of us that is nothing less than a spark of the Eternal Flame that is God.
Now most of us spend our lives busy, rushing from one thing to another, thousands of thoughts swirling through our minds from the time we wake till the time that sleep overtakes us.Our minds are so occupied, that we pay no attention to that tiny spark smouldering within. And this is where silence comes in.
There are many different methods and techniques one can use to retreat into the silence, and I will go through a few of my favorite ones in the near future.Suffice it to say for now that we must learn to embrace the silence if we would embrace the Eternal God.
